
Sijan Thapa
Sijan Thapa is a PhD student in Applied Economics at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, researching the impacts of bureaucracy and governance on Nepal’s economic development. With an extensive research experience, including roles at the World Bank Group and the Asian Development Bank Institute, she specializes in empirical research design, data analysis, and policy evaluation. Sijan holds a Master’s in Economics from the International University of Japan and a Bachelor’s in Economics (Hons) from Lady Shri Ram College, University of Delhi. Passionate about policy impacts on vulnerable communities, she is currently studying Nepal’s migration policies and their effects on women and their familes.
