Based on the opportunities posed by the demographic dividend discussed in the previous edition, NEFport 59, titled ‘Unlocking Care Economy’s Potential,’ explores the significance of care economy in today’s development paradigm through collaborative care thinking, an area that the Nepal Economic Forum (NEF) is keen to work in. Marking 10 years since the devastating 2015 earthquake in Nepal, NEFport 60, titled ‘Recovering from Disaster: A Decade Since the Gorkha Earthquake’ examines the impact of the earthquake and the subsequent steps taken to recover from it. This issue takes into account news updates from December 1, 2024 to February 28, 2025.

NEFport 61, titled “Reforms 2.0: Unpacking the High-Level Economic Reforms Commission”, delves into the formation, objectives, and proposed actions of the Commission established by the Government of Nepal in October 2024. This issue captures the momentum around reform implementation and includes key economic and policy updates from March 1 to May 31, 2025.

Following two joint roundtables conducted by Nepal Economic Forum (NEF) and the Centre for Policy Dialogue (CPD) in Kathmandu and Dhaka, NEFport 62, titled ‘Nepal-Bangladesh Relations: Unlocking Bilateral Relations,’ charts a path for future relations between the two countries. This issue takes into account news updates from June 1 to August 31, 2025.

This issue builds upon the overall macroeconomic state of Nepal’s economy and provides an outlook for the Nepali economy.
