This event was one of the activities conducted under HiCEF to unravel the business and policy context of circular economy with the participation of business leaders, government officials, diplomats, representatives of civil societies, national and international organizations, academicians, private sector enterprises, entrepreneurs, researchers, practitioners and students.

NEF has grown and evolved immensely since 2020 – a year in review document gives an extensive overview of what the year was.

This session highlighted and delved upon the state of the young people today and moved on to mark the session as a critical milestone in the journey of Generation Unlimited – empowering every young person to thrive in the world of work.

This session, Enhancing Productivity, Enhancing Growth, delved into some of the crucial factors that contribute to enhancing the productivity of the workforce, including legal mechanisms, better wages, suitable and secure working hours and environment, consistent availability of work, necessary incentives and on-time payment of wages.

This session delved into discussions to realize Nepal’s potential towards a circular economy and inform on the extent to which its core principles- recycle, reuse and reduce have been practiced. This session further highlighted some of the existing best practices and provided recommendations for mainstreaming circular economy in the nation.

As part of its new initiative Himalayan Circular Economy Forum (HiCEF), Nepal Economic Forum (NEF) organized a round table discussion on 29 August 2019 with various stakeholders to gain insights on this fostering economic system and its translation in Nepal. The key themes of the discussion were: Introduction to Circular Economy, Circular Economy in Nepal and HiCEF in the coming days.
