This panel discussion focuses on the importance to create a balance between cultural heritages and also protection of one’s cultural identity and enriching it with what other cultures can bring to us.
Nepal Economic Forum organized a Neftalk based on a book, “Death of an industry: The Cultural Politics of Garment manufacturing During the Maoist Revolution” that studies the relationship between turmoil of the garment industry and the People’s War in Nepal. It revisits hoe the expiry of MFA led to a major polotico-economic reshuffling in Nepal.
Himalayan Consensus Summit 2018 brought together pioneers, business and financial leaders across the Himalayan region to forge pragmatic ways to local challenges. The Summit had the main objectives of monitoring commitments that were announced in HCS 2017 and building a platform for connectivity discourse to foster regional connection through sources such as air, water, energy, land and technology.

The neftalk brought together experts in economics and public finance to discuss the models that have worked and those that have not from countries that have tried and, in some cases, succeeded in moving to a decentralized model.
“Night of the Ideas”, a worldwide debate event, was organized in Kathmandu by the French Embassy, Nepal Economic Forum (NEF) and the Alliance Française de Katmandou (AFK) on 25 January, 2018. This year’s theme was “Power to Imagination” and the discussions in Nepal revolved around: How does imagination drive the evolution of Nepali society in a global context?”
